Other forms: food insecurities

Food insecurity is not having enough to eat. Wars, drought, and poverty can all result in food insecurity for large groups of people.

Whenever there's a limited amount of food, especially food that's full of nutrients, there is going to be food insecurity. This term can describe neighborhoods, regions, or entire countries where people can't find enough to eat. It's also used for families or households in the same situation. Food insecurity comes from the idea that even if a group has enough food for now, they lack the security of knowing they will have plenty next week or next month.
